Trained in Paris, Melanie Lomoff worked with the ballets C de la B before settling in London where she created her first full-length piece. In her solo, she entertains a live dialogue with Josh Anio Grigg’s electronic music and Francis Bacon’s painting. The main issue of this musical, pictural and choreographic work is an inner scream tearing apart the hybrid creatures of the British painter. This scream is scrutinized, observed, unfolded and transformed, with the dancer on pointe shoes. In her carnal search for new sensations, these graceful instruments break down the lines of her body, and redesign her movements with tensions and balance losses.
" Watching her dance, one has an overwhelming impression of watching an artist fight with her own body. " Nina Dudziak – 5 Kilo Kultury
